some of you might have noticed that I have been wondering about an author chat with Julia Golding (who lives in England...) I have asked her if she would like to consider and she replied that it sounds interesting. she asked if I could send her more details, but the thing is... I dunno exactly what else to tell her. is there a possibility that you could maybe help me? Should I tell her to contact one of you or something?

how do these things get arranged? Im a little bit muddled...
thanks!

Oops! Sorry I didn't see your post, A.M.!
Yes, please, put her in touch with us if it's not too late. You can ask her to e-mail me (
sabina@teensrc.ca) or send me her e-mail address and I'll drop her a line (but please don't post her e-mail address to the forums or she might get hit with a lot of spam!).
Thank-you so much for taking the initiative to contact Julia Golding! That's really fantastic.
If some of you want to contact your favourite authors, too, you're very welcome to customize the template below to write to some of those super-stars. And how do you track them down? The way we do: look on their websites and use the "contact" link. Sometimes we have to track down their publicists or other in-between people who then pass our e-mails along.
Please let me know if you have any questions! And good luck!

Dear {insert lovely author's name},
You are cordially invited to participate as an author in the 2009 Pan-Canadian Superstar Teen Reading Club (also known as the TeenRC) and I really hope you'll accept. We have weekly chats about books but it's way more fun when we can get an author to participate. Would you be interested in participating in one of our chats? They take place in the summer and usually last an hour or two (as long as you can type).
Just to give you some background information about the programme: TeenRC is a Canada-wide, online, reading club for teens put on by the British Columbia Library Association. It's non-commercial and run by librarians. Teens register on the website and then submit book reviews, discuss the books they've read, submit their own writing, and participate in online chats. In the past year, almost 3500 teens have registered for the site and submitted thousands of book reviews. As of today there are over 87,000 posts to our discussion board (since June of last year)!
Our chats involve typing on a keyboard and reading the responses in the online chat room. You can read a typical exchange here:
http://teensrc.ca/chatrooms/archives/13.
If a chat with us sounds interesting and fun to you, please write back to me and I'll put you in touch with the TeenRC administrators.
Thank-you!
Cheers,
{your name}
